D.C. police have recently charged Lawrence Dukes, a resident of the District, with second-degree murder for killing his own passenger in an auto collision. On October 12, 2016, Dukes was driving and allegedly ran a red light on Suitland Parkway. This caused him to collide with a D.C. Metro bus. In addition to injuring the bus's driver and three of its passengers, the collision also killed Dukes' own passenger, Tyre Donnell Bailey, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

Deaths in motor vehicle crashes remain unfortunately common. If you know anyone who has been injured or killed in a collision, you should contact the personal injury attorneys at Chaikin, Sherman, Cammarata & Siegel, P.C., for a free consultation.
